Top 10 Profitable Sub niches in health and fitness

Looking out for Profitable Sub niches in health and fitness, People say that the most profitable niches are in the health, wealth, or relationships markets.

Competition and making money go hand in hand, of course. Fitness is a very valuable and profitable business, and because of that, there are a lot of people who want to get a piece of it.

So, if you want to be successful in the health and fitness market, you need to narrow your focus and focus your website, YouTube channel, or podcast on a specific sub-niche instead of trying to take on the fitness market as a whole.

In this post, I’ll talk about some good sub-niches in fitness that you could build a business around.

Let’s get to it!

Several important things to know about the fitness market

Like other extreme-competition subniches, subniches in the fitness market need to be approached a little differently than most other websites.

Simply put, you won’t get a lot of traffic, and it’s very hard to rank high in Google without paying for it. Most of the big players in this niche are actively buying backlinks to their most important pages. Some of these companies are fitness brands that make millions of dollars each month. In order to rank each article, you may need to build backlinks to it. This is especially true for “money topics,” or topics that make it easy to buy something.

This doesn’t mean you can’t rank without building backlinks, but the articles you write need to be very specific. Having unique expertise, experience, or personal stories helps tremendously. Google gives more weight to how knowledgeable, authoritative, and trustworthy a site is when it comes to a person’s health.

Anyhow, this makes the fitness market a better choice for people who want to build niche authority sites or personal brands. You can make the most of a small amount of traffic by getting to know a smaller group of people better through an email list, social media, and personal conversations.

On the other hand, the fitness market is not a good choice for people who want to make money through ad networks like Adsense, Ezoic, or Mediavine or other ways that require a lot of traffic to make a lot of money. Due to how aggressively competitors go after easier keywords, I don’t think this market is good for people who want to make money by sitting back and waiting for it to come to them. If your website starts to get popular, you risk having competitors go after your best keywords.

I’m not trying to scare you, because this can still be a very profitable and personally rewarding market to get into. You’ll just need to put a little more work into marketing and building relationships to see significant growth.

So, let’s talk about the sub-niches.

Profitable Sub niches in health and fitness

1. Health Of A Particular Body Part

Sub niches in health and fitness

Two years ago, I got terrible runner’s knee from running 5 miles on a treadmill almost every day. If you have never heard of runner’s knee, it is basically damage to the cartilage under the kneecap. It was very painful and lasted for over 6 months.

During this time, I was very upset because I really liked running, but the pain in my runner’s knee made me feel like I couldn’t do much of it.

Getting your heart rate up is not the only way to stay fit. Sometimes, it’s about giving extra attention to certain parts of the body.

It may not seem very interesting to write about joint exercises for people with arthritis, but keep in mind that these people don’t get much attention on mainstream health websites, and they are also more motivated to solve their problems.

If you think about it in a general way, you can come up with dozens of fitness niche ideas that fit into this category alone.

2. Start a Weight Loss Training Targeting A Specific Type Of Person

top 10 fitness niches

Yes, you do need to dig deep. Not just focusing on weight loss, but also on a different way to lose weight, and then on a different person.

Consumers see ads about losing weight everywhere they go, not just on the Internet. If your blog or website doesn’t really say anything to anyone, you won’t be remembered for long.

Some possible examples are:

  • Yoga for men over 40
  • Lifting weights for vegans
  • People with certain health conditions or disabilities can do cardio
  • Different kinds of diets

The Global Wellness Institute says that the industry for healthy eating, nutrition, and weight loss was worth 702 billion dollars in 2019. (the most recent release of their study at the time of writing.)

Even though it may not seem like there are a lot of people in these very specific niches, there is a large audience around the world that is not getting any special attention from the larger websites.

People say that if you can get 1,000 real fans of your brand, you’re good to go.

Get specific about who you want to reach, and you’ll find that the riches are in the niches.

3. Goal Based Training

fitness niches 2022

People get very passionate about what they want to do, and they spend a lot of money to help them get there.

Because of this, websites with a specific goal can be very profitable. If you can sell or promote a product that helps them reach their goal, that’s even better.

Here are some examples if you don’t know what I mean:

  • Trying to run a marathon.
  • By taking part in a triathlon.
  • Running a sub-7 minute mile.

Most people can’t just decide to do these things and do them right away without any problems. The person who sets goals goes on a long journey with different challenges at each step.

If your website focuses on one of these sub-niches, it can be a resource for the whole process.

Keep in mind that because the process has a clear end, people may not stay around forever. If they reach their goal, they might not need your website anymore. In this case, it might be best to move as quickly as possible to sell your best product.

4. Supplements And Consumables products

health and fitness blog niches

Even though this topic has less to do with fitness and more to do with health in general, what we put in our bodies has a big effect on how we feel during the day.

They also affect how well we do in sports.

According to Grand View Research, the industry for dietary supplements is worth 123.28 billion dollars and is expected to reach over $230 billion by 2027.

From a marketing point of view, supplements are great products to sell to people. They are used up quickly, customers are loyal to the brand, and they buy them again and again.

For this reason, more and more personal brands are starting their own supplement companies. Customers are worth a lot, and supplements don’t have to follow the same rules as medicines.

Anyhow, the following supplement affiliate programs can help affiliate marketers make a lot of money:

Tropical Oasis (with commissions for life or on a regular basis!)
Rainbow Light eVitamins from Vitamin Shoppe A1 Supplements for Bodybuilding

Just be careful, because you don’t want to give anyone bad information that could hurt them. There are also a lot of shady companies in this field, both supplement makers and bloggers and marketers, so be careful who you do business with.

5. Share Fitness Equipment

Micro niche health blog

If you love gear or if your main goal is to make money through affiliate marketing, you might want to build a website that is all about gear.

One common way to start a website is with a more narrow focus, or niche (say, only focusing on weightlifting benches, or kickboxing equipment for example.) Then, when you’ve written everything you can about the subject, you can move on to other related topics or add-ons for the first product.

This way, you can start out very focused, but you don’t have to stay that way once you’ve written everything you can about a subject.

In my blogging course, I talk more about how to carry out this plan.

Even though Amazon’s affiliate program is still the most popular and has the highest conversion rate, many people are happy to buy fitness equipment from other trusted online stores. So, it might be worth it to look for other affiliate programs that pay higher commissions and keep cookies for longer periods of time.

But if you want to build a website that is all about Amazon’s affiliate program, you can find a detailed plan on my products page for building profitable Amazon affiliate websites.

Monetizing Within The Fitness Market

As was said earlier in this article, it can be hard to get a lot of traffic because there are so many competitors.

So, the best way to make money from your website is to focus on monetization strategies that make the most of each visitor.

Using other platforms that let you talk to people all the time, like social media, YouTube, podcasts, and an email list, is also very helpful and is the key to steadily growing your audience.

I think it’s possible to make a full-time living with only 100 visitors a day if you use this strategy and keep the people who come to your website. The best way to do this is through an email list, which still makes the most money by far.

Which, even though the fitness market is very competitive, is not an impossible goal by any means.

But how do you make money? Let’s look at some of the choices.

7. Weight Loss Smoothie

8. Fitness in Summer

How to Monetize Health and Fitness Blog

1. Creating An Info Product

As a blogger, YouTuber, or podcaster, making and selling your own information product could be one of the best ways to make money.

For example, you could sell an eBook, a course, or a membership site that goes above and beyond what you’re already giving away for free.

In the fitness market, it’s important to know your customers and connect with them. So, you’ll not only make more money per sale because you’ll get the whole amount instead of just a commission, but you’ll also make more sales overall because your audience will already know, like, and trust you.

Your blog will also help you find and target qualified customers while also giving them something of value right away.

For example, I like to write articles like this one to help people find a market that interests them and give them a little more information about some of these markets. If you’re still not sure which niche is best for you, I secretly hope you’ll pick up my blueprint for choosing a niche.

Making an info product is one of the best ways to make money in a fitness sub-niche. It may not be the only way, but it is one of the best.

2. Affiliate Marketing

If the thought of making your own product scares you or you just don’t have the time, you can still make a lot of money by promoting other people’s products.

Affiliate marketers who promote fitness products make millions of dollars, and the industry is only growing.

When it comes to affiliate marketing, your strategy will depend a lot on the specific sub-niche you choose. Affiliate websites for Amazon focus on quick conversions and review-style content to reach people who are already further along in the buying process.

People who want to build a long-term relationship and sell different kinds of products at different price points may get more out of putting out informational content aimed at people who are still learning what they need to do.

There are many different kinds of fitness products, and some of the equipment costs thousands of dollars.

Clickbank shows that affiliate programs in this space offer commissions of up to 75% for digital products. Even if you don’t make the products yourself, you can still make a lot of money with these programs.

3. Sponsored Posts

Remember how I said earlier that many of your competitors are likely to buy links?

Even though it goes against Google’s rules, if there were no sellers, there would be no buyers. If you are comfortable with the idea of offering sponsored posts on your blog, the fitness market pays more than most other niches. This is especially true once your website becomes a leader in its field.

Not every marketer who pays you to write a sponsored post will ask for a dofollow backlink, but most will expect it.

If you choose this strategy, I suggest keeping the ratio of sponsored to non-sponsored content as high as possible, only linking to relevant websites, and checking Google Search Console for any warnings.

4. Coaching / Mentoring

When it comes to fitness, one-on-one coaching is more popular than ever, and a lot of this service is now moving to the internet.

During and after the pandemic, people worked out at home more and more. This gives you a lot of chances to train or mentor people to help them reach their fitness goals.

You can add a lot of value to the lives of your customers by acting as a virtual personal trainer, making nutrition plans and workout plans, or just giving them advice.

Don’t forget that even if this doesn’t sound like a service you’d buy, that doesn’t mean there aren’t people who need your help.

Let’s be honest. Some of them are wealthy.

If you don’t want to coach people one-on-one, you might also want to think about group coaching. For instance, you could host a live webinar once a week that all of your clients can join to ask questions and get advice.

5. Private Labeling

Did you know that it’s not as hard to get goods from other countries as it used to be?

In the last 5 years, there has been a huge rise in the number of people who buy products from factories and sell them under their own brand. With a blog, YouTube channel, or podcast to attract attention and build trust, you can then use this to get ahead of competitors in your field.

On Alibaba.com, you can find many factories with low minimum order quantities. For many products, you can get started with $1,000 or less.

This is what I did with my eCommerce brands: I started with one product and then used the money it made to add more.

As an extra tip, you might want to think about promoting a wide range of products on your blog through Amazon’s affiliate program. Then, based on what sells, you can choose which products to make.

Change their link to yours, and you’ll almost certainly sell the same number of units.

Conclusion

The fitness market is a very interesting one to get into, and there are many ways to get a piece of it.

If you think you’re a driven and motivated person, I think it’s better to go into a competitive market with lots of room to grow than a smaller market that will limit you in 1–2 years.

After all, in a market like this, you can pretty much make as much money as you want.

I hope this article helped you. I’ve worked with several clients in this field before, so if you have any questions I can answer for you, just let me know through the comment form below.

Thank you, and I wish you the best!
